Share wired internet connection from laptop to ipod touch 4G?

I have a Windows vista laptop (acer aspire 5517 series) and would like to share the wired internet connection to my ipod touch 4G. i don't want a wireless router since i'll only need it for my ipod, could i share the internet thru bluetooth? if so, how? and how do you use ad hoc networks I've tried before it would connect but wouldn't work :/
