Whenever i want to play a video clip(3gp,flv etc)-not a valid win32 application error comes up?

i had run the pc recovery in my laptop and after that all these problems have started to come up,also i installed 231mb microsoft .net framework 3.5 (because my computer Unable install this update Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family KB951847) but there also as it begins to get installed ,error comes up that : MSI returned error code 1603 now i'm fed up what shall i do?
